Position Overview:
As a Junior Information Security Consultant, you will support senior consultants and guide clients through the foundational aspects of governance, risks, and compliance (GRC). This role will involve learning to assess security risks, assist in recommending mitigating actions, and contribute to the development of security strategies. You will be instrumental in helping clients align their IT environments with industry best practices and regulatory requirements, gaining practical experience under expert supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in conducting risk assessments to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities in client environments.
- Support the development of security policies, procedures, and strategies to help clients meet regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Collaborate with senior consultants to evaluate clients' current IT security posture and suggest improvements.
- Help implement governance, risk, and compliance frameworks under the guidance of experienced team members.
- Participate in client meetings to gather requirements, understand security needs, and support the design of customized solutions.
- Learn and stay updated on the latest trends in cybersecurity, regulatory compliance, and information security best practices.
- Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and documentation to communicate findings and recommendations to clients.
- Assist on analyzing system impacts to other systems and procedures.
- Participate in training personnel on enhancements, and new systems or procedures.
- Creating executive reporting and strategy documents.
- Stay abreast of the latest developments in IT security, regulations, and best practices.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of network security, encryption, identity management, and access controls.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Self-directed and motivated.
- Eagerness to learn, adapt, and apply new skills in a fast-paced consulting environment.
Preferred Skills (Not Required):
- Basic knowledge of risk management tools and security auditing.
- Familiarity with cloud security concepts and cybersecurity tools.
- Any relevant internships or certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CISM, CISA).
